Online Safety at South Hetton Primary School
At South Hetton Primary School, we take online safety very seriously.
Children use computers, tablets, and phones for fun activities and to connect with friends. While this is great, it’s important to stay safe online.
Our Top Tips for Parents
- Talk to people you know – Encourage your child to only chat with friends and family they know in real life.
- Check what they’re doing online – Look at the apps, games, and websites they use.
- Know who they’re talking to – Make sure they are not communicating with strangers.
If you have any concerns about online safety:
✅ Speak to your child’s teacher
✅ Report it through the school app or the website’s report function
Parents’ Online Safety Information
Most parents want to reduce risks for their children. Setting parental controls can help keep children safe and prevent accidental online spending.
Online safety is not just about protecting children from dangers—it’s also about helping them manage their use of technology. Most parental controls allow adults to set time limits for devices or apps.
